summer learning Journey-week 1-Bonus

Task: Watch this short video of a Waka Ama race. On your blog tell us whether you would like to be in a Waka Ama race one day. Why or why not?

I Would like to Be in A Waka Ama Race Because it IS a great workout and A great Way to interact With Water.  But I would Not Like to be in it because My Arms Would Be In Pain and it would cause stress physically

  1. Hi Arpit,

Good answer to the questions as to whether or not you'd like to be in a Waka Ama race! I'm reading your blog from my home in Canada where we're in the thick of winter. In the summer time, when our lakes and rivers aren't frozen as they are now, I love to paddle our canoe. My family owns 2 canoes, actually, as we use one for paddling on lakes and one for running down rivers.

Paddling is great fun but it can be exhausting if you're pushing yourself as you would be in a race. I've been in 2 canoeing races in the past and that's enough for me. I prefer to paddle for pleasure, to see the land and animals, rather than participate in a race! But I have friends who just love racing in Dragon Boat races and kayaking competitions, so we're all different, aren't we?

I hope you'll continue to participate in the blogging program and that you'll have a very happy summer holiday time!

    Sincerely,

    Leslie

  2. Hi Arpit,

Welcome to the summer learning journey for 2017. It’s great to have you join us. My name is Cadence and I will be blogging with your cluster this summer.

Good on you for posting on Christmas Day!! That shows real commitment. Ka pai!!

Fantastic work on completing a bonus activity! Extra points are coming your way!! I agree, you would need a lot of arm strength to paddle in a big Waka like that. I do a bit of kayaking myself, it’s a bit different to Waka Ama but my arms still get very sore and tired really quickly.

    Keep aiming for those points!!
I look forward to reading your blog posts!

    Cadence :)
